Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is about empathy - about connecting from the heart. NVC is helping people all over the world to transform their relationships and communication. NVC is sometimes referred to as "giraffe speech" or "giraffe language" because the giraffe has the largest heart of any land animal, and is always willing to stick its neck out. A growing number of schools in the U.S. operate along the lines of giraffe speech. If you would like to learn more about NVC and empathy, I recommend you watch these six short films by Marshall Rosenberg. Plus The Listening Hour is held online every week. People all over the world are learning Nonviolent Communication (NVC), which is based on empathy. Go here to watch the video now. Naimah has given us a lot to think about, in terms of parenting with peace. As usual, I am very inspired by her vision. What effect does it have on the world when parents use violent actions and/or words? And what effect will it have when parents learn the skills of NVC?
